When the “Change Spark Plug” icon alights on your ServisExpert®, you may go by the following instructions.

Step 1

Be sure engine is stopped. Disconnect the spark plug wire, and clean the area around the spark plug to avoid getting debris in the combustion chamber when you remove the plug.

Step 2

Remove the spark plug using a spark plug socket and/or socket wrench.

Step 3

Install the new spark plug finger tight. Then tighten 1/4 to 1/3 turn more with the socket wrench.

Replacing your spark plug:

  • Ensures consistent spark
  • More reliable starting
  • Improves fuel economy

It is very important that you choose the right spark plug for your engine. Due to the variety of engines and equipment configurations, please refer to your operator's manual for more information.
